A study visit to Bristol Cathedral could be part of the regular curriculum to enhance a range of subjects and themes and can provide a unique moment for the young visitors as they engage with the building and its life, past and present. Time spent here for a half or full day can be planned to suit the needs of the class and include considerable active learning and lively participation.
As a setting for worship and celebrations in the Christian tradition, the Cathedral is full of Christian symbols and images, both ancient and modern, and is a place which offers an encounter with Christian spirituality.
It is the desire of our Education team, including experienced children’s guides, that our visitors should have fun, learn a lot and enjoy a memorable day in this special building.
Annual events include ‘Moving on’: annual Year 6 workshop days held in June; Workshops and Worship for Christian Festivals eg Candlemas and Pentecost, and the Senior Schools Art Exhibition which takes place in February.
Bristol Cathedral has been awarded an LOtC quality badge for Education.
